The 1979 Chevrolet Camaro classic car restoration built at Bent Metal Customs involved extensive sheet metal work. We had the entire 1979 Chevrolet Camrao media blasted as soon as it arrived at the shop. Our main job on this 1979 Chevrolet Camaro restoration was to repair the floors, and complete the rust repair. We repaired the full floor using there separate pieces to complete the entire pan. We also shaved the firewall and fixed the toe boards. The tail panel on this classic restoration was also in need of some rust repair. We replaced the lower quarter panels, and fit a new set of doors. A custom rollcage was also installed in this 1979 Chevrolet Camaro. Once the custom roll cage was installed and all the fabrication was complete we sealed the car with epoxy primer. The bodywork and paint will be done at a later date.
Andy’s 1979 Chevrolet Camaro is back and it’s time for the fun stuff! We will be installing a Mast Motorsports 550hp LS2 engine mated to a Tremec T56 transmission. The car rides on Detroit Speed suspension and is equipped with Wilwood brakes and Forgeline ZX3P wheels. Stay tuned to see how this track toy turns out!
